San Fransisco

I'm doing catch up of our summer now...
Dave and I decided we better go out to my hometown for a few days before we shipped out to Illinois and became even poorer med school students who could never afford to go to California.
Besides visiting with all of my lovely family there we decided to do a few of my favorite things.

Our first California adventure was to bike ride down the coast of San Fransisco, from Embarcadero to the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge.
One of my favorite memories with my mom is when we did this together.
And now it's one of my favorite memories with my hubs.
So we woke up early and loaded ourselves and our bikes onto BART and headed over to SF.

We road around the new Giants stadium and then headed down all of the piers.
We saw seals and crazy street preformers and went in some of the shops.

We stopped for lunch at one of my favorite places...Boudines...and got ourselves some clam chowder bowls

and checked out of of the fun bread animals they were making that day.

Then we headed past the famous "bush man" witnessesing him scare about 10 people to death as they walked past him on the street just in time for him to pop out and scare them.

I don't know why I get such a kick out of watching him do this but he's been there every time I've ever gone to SF growing up.

Then we stopped at the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts and explored and fed the ducks.

Then continued down to the beach where we stopped and had some yummy fruit we picked up at Pier 39 and chatted with some Australian girls.

And before we new it we had made it to the bridge. Where we kissed, rested, watched a couple get engaged right next to us and watched a wind surfer almost hit a barge. We rode all the way across to Sausalito and then back to Embarcadero to ride home on BART.

It was the perfect day. Perfect weather, perfect company, perfect views.

When we got home we did used the website "map my run" and calculated that it was about 30 miles we had gone....it was so much fun...and we slept like babies that night.
